No sew chubby frog pattern

 










Materials:

-      Weight 4 worsted yarn in the colour of your choice (and a little bit of black)

-      4 mm crochet hook

-      Small safety eyes

-      Yarn needle

-      Scissors

-      Stitch marker

-      Poly fill stuffing

 

Abbreviations:

-      MR – magic ring

-      Ch – chain

-      Sc – single crochet

-      Inc- increase

-      Dec- decrease

-      Dc- double crochet

-      Ss- slip stitch

-      FO – fasten off

 

Pattern is worked in a continuous round, DO NOT join at the end of each row.


Row 1: 10 sc in MR (10)

Row 2: (inc, 1 sc) x5 (15)

Row 3: (inc, 2 sc) x5, inc (20)

Row 4: 3 sc, inc, 2 sc, 4 dc in same stitch, 2 sc, inc, 2 sc, 4 dc in same stitch, 2 sc, inc, 4 sc (29)

Row 5: 7 sc, dc dec with all four dcs from previous row, 6 sc, dc dec with all four dcs from previous row, 8 sc (23)

Row 6-7 (2 rows): 23 sc (23)

Add eyes in the “bubble” created by the double crochets.

Row 8: 7 sc, *ch 12, ss in fourth chain from the hook, ch 4, ss in same chain you had slip stitched before, ch 4, ss in same chain again. 8 sc (1 sc in each remaining ch)*, 10 sc, repeat from *to*, 6 sc

Add mouth by passing black yarn between row 5 and 6, at the desired length between the eyes.

Row 9: 23 sc in each sc from previous row, skip over the arms, but make sure they stay on the outside of the frog. (23)

Row 10: 23 sc (23)

Row 11: (dec, 3 sc) x 4, dec, 1 sc (18)

Row 12: dec, 2 sc, dec, 1 sc, *ch 12, ss in fourth chain from the hook, ch 4, ss in same chain you had slip stitched before, ch 4, ss in same chain again. 8 sc (1 sc in each remaining ch)*, 1 sc, dec, 2 sc, dec, repeat from *to*, 2 sc, dec

Row 13: 6 dec, 1 sc (7) Make sure to only crochet in the single crochets from the previous row and to skip the legs, but make sure they are on the outside of the frog.

FO, leave long tail.

Stuff the frog, then close the hole with the tail and a yarn needle.
