Note: the head, body and ears of the bat are worked in a
continuous round, so you do not join at the end of each row. The wings are
worked in separate rows, so you will join at the end of each row ONLY FOR THE
WINGS.
Starting at the head:
Row 1: 10 sc in MR (10)
Row 2: (inc, 1 sc) x 5 (15)
Row 3: (inc, 2 sc) x 5 (20)
Row 4: (inc, 3 sc) x 5 (25)
Row 5-8 (4 rows): 25 sc (25)
Row 9: (dec, 3 sc) x5 (20)
Row 10: (dec, 2 sc) x5 (15)
Row 11: (inc, 2 sc) x5 (20)
Row 12: (inc, 3 sc) x5 (25)
Add safety eyes between row 5 and 6, 5 stitches apart
from each other.
Embroider black mouth between row 6 and 7, then add white
fangs if you want that extra spooky look.
Row 13-18 (6 rows): 25 sc (25)
Row 19: (dec, 3 sc) x5 (20)
Stuff the head of the bat
Row 20: (dec, 3 sc) x4 (16)

Ears (make 2)
Row 1: 5 sc in MR (5)
Row 2: (inc, sc) x 2, inc (8)

Wings (make 2)
Join at the end of each row!
Row 1: make a MR, ch 2 (counts as dc), 2 dc, *ch 2, 3 dc*
repeat from * to * 4 times. Ch 2, ss to the top of the first ch 2 (the one
acting as a dc)
You should have a hexagon in your MR.
Row 2: ch 2 (acts as a dc), 2 dc, (in
the corner space, see picture, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc),
*3 dc, (in the corner space, see picture, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc)
* repeat from * to * 4 times. Ss to first ch 2 (the one acting as a dc)
Ss in the next stitch.
Sc the two halves of the folded hexagon together, by
crocheting one stitch from each side together. See picture.
Do 3 sc in the corner spaces instead of 1. See picture.
FO once you’ve completely crocheted the two sides of the hexagon together, leave long tail.
Sew the wings on the back of the body.
See picture to see the wing placement.
You can adjust the wing placement to
your liking.
